💛 Coming July 2027: a 3-day community event in Ashland, Medford & Eagle Point. Lineup announcements begin in December!

At each of our three events, people experiencing homelessness are our honored guests. In one morning they can store their belongings safely, choose fresh clothes, shower, get a haircut, talk with a counselor, and sit down to a meal made by top chefs. Then they spend the rest of the day with the community, as part of it.

A guest’s day

Step by step

  1. 8am to 1pm

    Safe storage for belongings

Guests can check the belongings they carry with them into secure storage in the gym, so they can enjoy the day with nothing to watch over.

Our security team receives each guest’s belongings at the door and hands the owner a matching number. The same number is placed on the belongings inside. Only security staff enter the storage area, at all times.

  2. 8am to 1pm

Fresh clothes from the Goodwill tent

First stop is the Goodwill tent, where each guest chooses a new set of clothes to wear for the day. Goodwill is partnering with us on this program.

  3. 8am to 1pm · last shower at 1pm

    Private, hot showers

Separate showers for men and women, with a limited number of guests at a time so no one feels rushed or crowded.

Security is present at the showers at all times, and each guest is escorted in and out before the next guest goes. After the last shower at 1pm, we coordinate with the venue’s custodial staff to thoroughly clean and sanitize the showers.

  4. Free

    Haircuts

Barbers are on hand to give a free hair trim to anyone who would like one.

  5. Free

    Counselors and psychologists

Caring professionals are available to talk with guests and help them find out if additional support would help them.

  6. Sign-up on site

    Oregon Health Plan enrollment

Guests who need health coverage can sign up for the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) right at the event. We hope to arrange weekend availability so guests can use the medical tent and see doctors and nurses as needed.

  7. In discussions with medical partners

    The medical tent

We are in discussions with medical partners to staff a medical tent with doctors, nurses and equipment, and a runner to bring lab tests to the hospital for analysis.

While they wait for results, guests can walk Recovery Road. Later in the day they can return to the medical tent to get results and schedule follow-up doctor appointments if needed.

  8. All day

    Recovery Road

Along Recovery Road, guests can visit faith tents from many of the religious communities in Jackson County, and sign up to meet weekly in small groups that help them stay on the path to recovery.

Recovery Road also brings together recovery and support organizations from across the valley, so every guest leaves knowing where to turn next.

  9. Free

    A chef-made meal

Every guest is served a free, tasty meal from a menu designed by top chefs from our valley. Our servers plate and serve every meal with sanitation in mind.

  10. Afternoon and evening

The rest of the day, together

After the meal, our guests enjoy the rest of the event like everyone else: the music, the speakers, the community. Fresh, clean and cared for, they are simply part of the crowd.

Recovery Road is for everyone

Help for you, or someone you love

Recovery Road is open to every guest at the event. You will find a place for a friend, family member or coworker who could use help getting back on their feet. Many people don’t know these support groups exist, or that they can help, so please share what you find.

In the back corner of Recovery Road you will also find our Second Stage, where local high school students perform in the talent contest.

Our hope is that anyone facing addiction, thoughts of suicide or homelessness will see there is more to life than just getting through the next day.

Feeling like a part of our community, instead of alone, can help a person start a new life. We are also in discussions with local school systems about how we can reach people even earlier.
